Building access standards for people with a disability

From 1 May 2011 the Building Code of Australia 2011 incorporates access standards for the design, construction and management of buildings for people with a disability. Building certifiers and people responsible for building design must comply with the Disability (Access to Premises - Building) Standards 2010.

All building development applications lodged for the construction of new class 1 buildings (houses, townhouses, terrace houses, villas) in Queensland must meet mandatory water savings targets.
